My Story for "CBC - Our Story"
Have you experienced God’s acceptance through CBC?
Has God used CBC to help you become more Christ-like in character?
Has God used CBC to call you to service opportunities that ended up blessing you (as well as others) beyond your expectations?
If so, we want to hear about it!
As part of our 30 year celebration (1978–2008) as a church, we want to give CBCers (both past and present) the opportunity to submit their STORY of how God used CBC to fulfill His purposes for their lives. We want to make sure that God receives all the glory for how He has used our church to transform lives.
Here’s how it works:
Anyone (12 years and older) who considered CBC their church home anytime during 1978 to the present can submit a “My Story” online.
1. Enter your contact information and authorize permission to use your story in the form below. Your story will not be submitted without it.
2. Use the “My Story” template to write your story. The template is broken down into four sections: Acceptance (How I was when I came to CBC), Becoming (How CBC helped me become more Christlike), Calling (How God used CBC to call me to serve in ways that bore fruit) and Praises to God. Please be brief, no more than a couple of paragraphs for each section. When appropriate, use dates (especially year) and identify key people who helped you in the process. You may want to write your story in a Word Processing software and copy your answers into the form below. You will not be able to save a partially completed form.
3. If you would like to send a picture to be included with your story, please email your pictures to wendyeverett@cbconline.org
4. Don’t worry about spelling or punctuation; we’ll take care of that.
5. You can submit your story any time between now and October 12, 2008.
Some of the “My Story” submissions may be used for printed, live or video presentations during the Worship Services this Fall. We would like to compile all of the “My Stories” and produce a booklet called “CBC – Our Stories” which will be available at the CBC 30th Birthday Celebration at Los Osos High School on Sunday, November 16 (note: these stories may be edited due to space limitations).
